One of the most important things our members can do is to help us share the good news of LAGERS. By ensuring local government employers have the tools to attract and retain great public servants, like you, LAGERS helps local communities across Missouri thrive and flourish – and it is important that we share this great news with our elected policy makers!
While there are lots of ways for our members to help us do this, one of our favorite is our Legislative Day! This year on March 27th, LAGERS members from across the state will gather in Jefferson City to visit with legislators about the value of what they do as public servants and impact that LAGERS has on their financial future!
All LAGERS members and retirees are encouraged to join in the excitement! We begin our day at the LAGERS office building where you will hear session updates from LAGERS’ legislative team. If you are new to advocacy, not to worry, this time will also provide you with tips and talking points for our visits later in the day. After lunch, we will make our way to the capitol where members will have time to meet with their local elected officials as well with members of both the House and Senate pension committees.
We love getting to showcase how awesome our members are, and how important the work you do is to each and every community in our state – and our elected officials love hearing from you!! Make sure you mark your calendars for March 27th!
