As you may know, LAGERS provides financial security to a wide variety of public servants across Missouri. We cover librarians, health care workers, pothole crews, police officers, zoo keepers, fire fighters, paramedics and many more. But, since tomorrow is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, I would like to focus on just police officers for today.
Through my time in the field, I have the pleasure of getting to know many our communities’ brave and dedicated police officers. In my conversations with some of our law enforcement officers, they say it is becoming increasingly harder to do the job these days. While the job is becoming more difficult, it is also becoming increasingly vital that our communities have the best individuals keeping our streets safe. We take such pride in providing our members with secure retirement income, because the roles they play in keeping our communities clean, safe, and vibrant are essential. So, the least we can do is make sure their retirement system is the most efficient and effective system it can be.
So, to our 6,403 members who are police officers and any other law enforcement officers who may read this, thank you! Thank you for risking everything to ensure our communities continue to be protected and secure. My family and I are forever grateful.
