LAGERS RECEIVES AWARD FOR PLAN FUNDING

LAGERS RECEIVES AWARD FOR PLAN FUNDING

December 14, 2020 Jefferson City, MO – Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System (LAGERS) received a 2020 Public Pension Standards Award for Funding from the Public Pension Coordinating Council (PPCC) in recognition of the organization  attaining standards for public pension funding. LAGERS has received recognition from PPCC consecutively since 1994.

The Public Pension Coordinating Council’s standards serve as a benchmark by which all defined benefit public pension plans should be measured. To receive the Recognition Award for Funding, the retirement system must certify that it meets the requirements for funding adequacy.

“This year was a showcase of LAGERS’ strength, stability, and resiliency, and LAGERS is well positioned for the future. We strive for excellence for the dedicated public employees we serve and this award is affirmation of that,” said LAGERS’ Executive Director Robert Wilson. “We are committed to continue our track record of delivering a premier retirement system for our members.”

The PPCC is a coalition of the National Association of State Retirement Administrators (NASRA), National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems (NCPERS) and National Council on Teacher Retirement (NCTR). Together, these associations represent more than 500 of the largest pension plans in the United States serving most of the nation’s approximately 18 million state and local government employees.
