LAGERS Earns Award for Financial Reporting for 42nd Consecutive Year

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019. This is the 42nd consecutive year LAGERS has received this award.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“This award is a representation of LAGERS’ commitment to providing accurate financial reports to ensure we are demonstrating to our stakeholders the security and transparency of the LAGERS system,” said Melissa Rackers, LAGERS’ Chief Financial Officer.

The comprehensive financial annual report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the comprehensive annual financial report.

LAGERS also received a similar award from GFOA for the system’s popular annual financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019.
