LAGERS 2025 Annual Meeting to Be Held in Springfield

Each year, members, employers, and board members of the Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System convene for the Annual Meeting, an in-person event held to elect members to the LAGERS Board of Trustees.

The meeting offers stakeholders the opportunity to help shape the future of the retirement system, as well as hear system updates and educational sessions that explain in depth how LAGERS benefits work. The Local Government Hero Award winner will also be announced during the meeting.

This year’s Annual Meeting will take place Oct. 30-31 in Springfield, Mo., at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.

What is the Annual Meeting?

The Annual Meeting is an annual event held to elect member and employer trustees to the LAGERS Board. The Board of Trustees is composed of:

  • Three member trustees: Member trustees must be active employee LAGERS members.
  • Three employer trustees: Employer trustees must be elected or appointed officials of a LAGERS participating employer. They cannot be members of the system.
  • One citizen trustee: The citizen trustee is neither an active member nor an employer official and is appointed by the state governor.

Which Seats are up for Election This Year?

Two board seats will be up for election on Oct. 31.

  • One member trustee seat (full term from 1/1/2026 to 12/31/2029)
  • One employer trustee seat (full term from 1/1/2026 to 12/31/2029)

The nomination period for the LAGERS Board of Trustees election is from July 14 to Sept. 4, 2025.

Who is Eligible to be a Board Candidate?

An employer trustee candidate must be an elected or appointed official from a participating LAGERS employer. A candidate cannot be a member of LAGERS nor from the same employer as another active board member.

Each LAGERS’ employer may send one member delegate, one employer delegate, and as many non-voting delegates as they wish to the Annual Meeting.
