All of LAGERS benefits are determined by using the calculation in the below image. In every benefit calculation there is a benefit multiplier associated with the calculation. So, what is a benefit multiplier? Along with how long your work and how much you make, the benefit multiplier determines what your benefit amount will be. The short video above gives you a quick idea of how a benefit multiplier works.
Of the three benefit calculation components, the benefit multiplier is one of the components your employer controls. They choose what benefit multiplier they wish to provide for their employees.
