We all know things are different right now, for all of us. Terms like uncertain times and new normal are overused so much they’re beyond cliche.
Things are different for many of us at work as well, and that includes LAGERS members. Take a look at what some of them have been doing during this difficult time (another cliche, but true none the less) to keep our communities running smoothly and safely.
Rolling Hills Library LAGERS members in St. Joseph are helping members of their community by offering voter registration and notary services.
Webb City Fire and Jasper County Health Department held mask distribution events where they handed out masks through a drive through.
Katie Daugherty of Riverside PD says they’re still doing the job, just a little differently.
Many LAGERS members around the state participated in their local city blood drives in order to combat blood shortages during the pandemic.
And even our own Arby Todd, LAGERS’ Board of Trustees Chairperson, is still out keeping the city of Lee’s Summit safe, in a mask made for him by our own Betty, LAGERS Operations Clerk
This is just a small sample of how, while many of us are working from home or staying home, the public servants out there are continuing to do their jobs “business as usual”. Their dedication is something to admire. That’s why LAGERS is dedicated to “serving those who serve others” and making sure that our members can look forward to a secure and dignified retirement.
