Megan Loehner serves as the Director of Investments for Missouri LAGERS. She joined the team in March 2010. Megan has worked alongside the Chief Investment Officer for the last seven years, sharing in the responsibility of the management of the LAGERS’ investment portfolio. The portfolio has earned a return of 10.31% over the last seven years ending June 30, 2017, beating the assumed rate of return of 7.25% and the policy benchmark of 8.26%. Megan’s responsibilities include ongoing portfolio management of all managers and assets, conducting new manager search processes, assisting in asset allocation and risk allocation decisions, as well as the asset/liability study that is conducted every 5 years.
Prior to joining LAGERS, she worked for three years as an Investment Officer for the Public School and Education Employee Retirement Systems of Missouri (PSRS/PEERS). While at PSRS/PEERS, she focused mainly on the $1 billion Private Equity portfolio which consisted of more than 30 managers and also aided in the monitoring and diligence of the $10 billion Domestic Equity program.
Megan is a graduate of the University of Missouri, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s of Science in Accounting. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is also a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. She was also named as one of the “Top 30 Women Rising Stars in Institutional Investing” by Trusted Insight.
Megan enjoys spending time with her husband, Austin and their son, Langston. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and going to the family farm for a run with their dog, Dash.
