Become a LAGERS Certified Administrator

We want our employer contacts to feel at ease talking about LAGERS benefits. One of the most effective ways for you to accomplish this is through education. So, complete LAGERS’ certification program, the Certified LAGERS Administrator (CLA), to better educate yourself so you can better educate others.

This program will provide you with the tools needed to be a better communicator of LAGERS benefits while providing you with professional development and credibility, just like any continuing education course may do.

What is CLA?

Certified LAGERS Administrator (CLA) is a certification given to you upon completed attendance at specified LAGERS educational events. It is voluntary and at no cost. Requirements must be completed within two years from enrollment, and then you must be re-certified every two years. You are responsible for tracking your own events using a checklist provided by us. Once certified you will receive a CLA certificate and a lapel pin.

Who Should Participate?

The CLA is designed for individuals responsible for the administration of their employer’s finances and human resources. You should feel at ease talking about LAGERS benefits, and one of the most effective ways to accomplish this is through education. Therefore, the CLA is focused on various educational events that support your administrative position.

What Are The Requirements?

When you enroll, you will receive a checklist explaining there are

• four required core events AND

• three (of five) required elective events

The majority of the education sessions are available through webinars. You can find these webinars on our events calendar. You may click on an event on the calendar to register for that event. If you can’t find one this year, it will be on next year’s schedule; check back!

Does This Mean I Can Speak On Behalf Of LAGERS?

LAGERS has created the Certified LAGERS Administrator (CLA) program with the following goals:

• Educate CLAs about LAGERS benefits

• Enhance CLAs’ ability to assist LAGERS members in learning about and applying for LAGERS benefits

However, CLAs are not agents or employees of LAGERS and LAGERS will not be bound by information and advice provided to LAGERS members by CLAs. It does NOT mean LAGERS’ representatives will no longer visit with your employer or employees. We will continue to provide your employer with our services upon request.
