Adminstrative workshops are designed for members and prospective members who handle the administrative functions of LAGERS for their employees. This meeting consists of two sessions: LAGERS 101 and LAGERS 201. LAGERS 101 is designed especially for prospective members but also for members wanting a refresher on LAGERS basics. Topics include the benefit options, benefit calculation, service credit, retirement ages, final average salary, the process to join, etc. For members who are well schooled on the basics, LAGERS 201 is for you. This session is great for city clerks, human resources personnel, county clerks, finance, and payroll personnel. Topics include monthly reporting, enrollments, contribution rates, ECLIPSE, benefit changes, etc.
Annual Meeting
The LAGERS Annual Meeting is held in late October each year. The primary purpose for this meeting is so that LAGERS members may elect trustees to the LAGERS Board. Each member subdivision may send as many representatives as they wish to the annual meeting, but only two may vote for trustees. One member delegate is elected by the employees at each employer to cast one vote for a Member Trustee. The governing body of each employer appoints an Employer Delegate to represent them and to cast one vote for an Employer Trustee. In addition to the elections, this meeting provides valuable information to LAGERS members about the inner-workings of the system and also provides a great opportunity to network with peers from other local government agencies from across the state. This meeting is not mandatory, but is a great way to participate in your retirement system.
