LAGERS Prepares to Release Member Web Portal



January 2012



Coming Summer 2012, LAGERS will be releasing our Member Web Portal which allows every LAGERS member to access his or her personal account information online.  



Members will be able to log on and:

  • View/Change Personal Information
  • View/Change Beneficiary Information
  • View Annual Statement
  • View Past and Present Service Credit
  • View and Track Purchase of Service
  • Estimate Purchase of Military Service
  • Check Employee Contribution Account Balance
  • Generate and Save Benefit Estimate(s)
  • Apply for Retirement
  • Set up Tax Withholding for Retirement  

 

Retirees will be able to log on and:

  • View/Change Personal Information
  • View/Print 1099-R
  • View/Print Income Verification Letter
  • View/Update Tax Withholding Information
  • View and Update Beneficiary Information

Also in 2012...



Beginning in 2012, LAGERS will be issuing brand new, completely redesigned member statements.  The new statements have been refined and streamlined for ease of reading.  Additionally, for members who have had multiple LAGERS employers, service will be compounded into one comprehensive statement.  



In past years, LAGERS has mailed annual statements to each employer sometime in October.  Beginning this year, and going forward, you should receive your statement sometime in the first quarter of the year.

Legislative Session ends with no Changes to LAGERS Benefit Structure

 

May 2011

 

The 2011 Missouri State legislative session ended May 13th with no changes to LAGERS benefit structure.  The one LAGERS bill that did pass only affects LAGERS internal accounting functions by changing the way the system pays duty related death benefits.  This bill has no effect on member benefits, only LAGERS internal functions.

 


 

 

 

Governor Nixon Appoints Franklin as Citizen Trustee

 

December 2010

 

The Governor has appointed John R. (Dick) Franklin, of Independence, to the Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System Board of Trustees.  From 1989-2002, Franklin served as a Missouri State Representative for the 53rd District. He received the Meritorious Service to Education Award from the Missouri Association of School Administrators and received the A+ Legislator Award from the Missouri National Education Association. The Governor has appointed him for a term ending Dec. 31, 2012.  Mr. Franklin is replacing Jack Pierce, Jefferson City, who passed away in June 2010.

 

 

 


 

 

LAGERS Portfolio Performs in top 10% of US Public Pensions

 

 

October 2010

 

The LAGERS portfolio produced a total return of 16.2% for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010.  This substantial return put LAGERS in the top 10% of US public pension funds for investment performance for the year.
